The Kingston Hill campus provides accommodation for the Faculty of Business and Law; the Faculty of Health, Social Care and Education; and the Department of Music as well as accommodation for students, within a protected woodland setting.
The main part of the campus has been developed as a series of terraces stepping down to the south, but the incremental development has resulted in an environment that lacks coherence and is confusing. The condition of many of the older buildings is also poor.
The Kingston Hill campus is located within the Kingston Hill conservation area and includes a listed retaining wall.
1. Sports Hall: We will be building a much-needed indoor sports facility within substantial existing mature tree cover on Car Park A. A planning application for the sports hall was approved in July 2016. Construction will take place in 2017.
2 and 3. Learning and teaching: We propose to create new facilities in the centre of the campus including academic buildings, an Energy Centre and a new School of Education. This would involve the replacement of the Mid-Level Building, De Lissa Hall, Drama Hall and one of the temporary Yorkon buildings.
4. Halls of residence: New accommodation would replace the current School of Education and students' union.
