Celebration Of The Queen's Diamond Jubilee

TheTriumphs of Oriana was compiled in honour of Queen Elizabeth 1. Handel's anthems adorned the Coronation of George II as did Parry's that of Edward VII.  A Garland for the Queen and Britten's opera on the life of Elizabeth I celebrated the Queen's accession in 1952.  Walton wrote marches for the coronations of both George VI and Elizabeth II.
