Public transport

Trains run regularly from London Waterloo to Kingston station (midweek four trains per hour, journey times 28–33 minutes) or Surbiton station (midweek 10 trains per hour, journey times 15–32 minutes). For further information, visit the National Rail Enquiries website.

Buses run both locally and from other parts of London. For further information, visit the Transport for London website. We also run a free intersite bus service for students, staff and visitors.

From Kingston station

  • Leave the railway station via the main exit
  • Cross at the lights in front of you on to Fife Road
  • Turn left on to Castle Street
  • At the end of Castle Street continue ahead on to Eden Street
  • Cross the mini-roundabout to Brook Street
  • Cross over at the lights and head right towards the roundabout
  • Go straight over the roundabout on to Penrhyn Road
  • Penrhyn Road campus is on your left opposite Surrey County Hall

From Surbiton station

  • Leave the railway station via the main exit
  • Cross the mini-roundabout to Claremont Road
  • Take the 71, 281, K2 or K3 bus towards Kingston
  • Get off at the 'Kingston University' stop
  • The Penrhyn Road campus is on the other side of the road

Driving

Please note that all visitors to Kingston University must pre-book car parking through the person they are visiting. Parking enforcement measures are in operation at all sites so all visitors must display a visitor permit, which are available from campus receptions. Parking control notices (PCNs) will be issued for any vehicles not displaying a valid permit during the stated times or where a vehicle is parked in breach of the on-site instructions. Vehicles are parked at the user's own risk and the University accepts no responsibility for loss or damage to any personal property brought onto our sites.

Parking is limited in the town centre sites and so you may have to use one of the public pay-and-display car parks nearby. For further information, visit the Kingston Council website.

Parking restrictions are lifted during open events, however parking is limited so you may need to park in one of the town's car parks.

Cycling

There is a network of cycle routes adjacent to most university sites. Cycle parking facilities are available on all sites, including halls of residence. For further information, visit the Cycle Kingston website.
