Academic Registry
The Academic Registry is responsible for:
- supporting the Academic Board and its sub-committees;
- maintaining the University’s academic regulations; and
- overseeing academic policies and procedures, and for supporting quality and standards in the University’s academic provision, including collaborative provision.
The department is also responsible for the administration of University examinations, administering centrally-programmed teaching and meeting space, and administering student academic appeals at the formal level.
The department comprises the following sections:
Academic Registrar’s Office
The Academic Registrar’s Office has responsibility for:
- supporting Academic Board and its sub-committees;
- student appeals; and
- maintenance and production of the University's academic regulations and procedures.
Academic Quality and Standards
This team has responsibility for implementing and monitoring the academic quality assurance procedures and academic regulations of the University, including:
- the University's academic quality and standards handbook;
- programme validation and reviews;
- programme specifications; and
- external examiners.
It works closely with the Deputy Vice-Chancellor and the Director of Academic Development.
Examinations
The Examinations Section is responsible for:
- the production and printing of examination papers;
- scheduling and invigilation arrangements for all formal examinations and special examination arrangements.
It works closely with the University's Dyslexia and Disability Co-ordinators.
Teaching Room Allocations
The Teaching Room Allocations team is responsible for allocating centrally-programmed teaching and meeting rooms.
