By train

Middle Mill is close to both Kingston station and Surbiton station. Both are served by frequent overland trains from London Waterloo. You can find out more from National Rail Enquiries.

If you arrive at Surbiton station, come out of the station and walk straight ahead to the end of Claremount Road. Turn right into Maple Road and cross at the next set of traffic lights. Turn left into Fasset Road and walk to the bottom of road, where the rear entrance of the University will be on your left. Turn right into Grove Lane and then take the next left into Springfield Road.

When you reach a small roundabout, turn right into Portland Road. Walk past the University nursery and St John's School. Middle Mill is 200 meters on the left-hand side and is sign posted.

If you arrive at Kingston station, come out of the station and bear to the left, walking straight ahead down Clarence Street. You will pass the cinema and a Wilkinson's store on your left-hand side. Then cross the main road and carry on walking straight up Wheatfield Way, with the bus station on your left. Bear left and, still walking straight, continue up Fairfield West (the playing fields will be on your left-hand side).

Walk straight ahead, cross over at the crossroads and carry on walking up Knights Park. Cross a blue bridge (Knight Park campus will be on your left-hand side) and at the next junction, turn left into Portland Road. Walk past the University nursery and St John's School. Middle Mill is 200 meters on the left-hand side and is sign posted.

By bus

From Kingston bus station, turn left and walk straight up Wheatfield Way. Bear left and, still walking straight, continue up Fairfield West (the playing fields will be on your left-hand side).

The University also has its own bus service, which runs during term time and is free to University students and staff.

By car

From the A3

  • At Tolworth Tower roundabout, take the turning marked 'Kingston town centre' and carry on down the Ewell Road.
  • This is a very long road, so you will pass Surbiton Hospital and go through three sets of traffic lights before you reach the crossroads of St Marks Hill and Villiers Avenue (there will be a garage facing you and the Railway Tavern pub on your right).
  • Turn right here into Villiers Avenue and then go straight across a mini-roundabout. Take the second turning on the left, into Portland Road, and Middle Mill is approximately 250 meters further.

From Hampton Court

  • Take the first turning off to the left at Hampton Court roundabout, following the signposts for Kingston/Kingston Bridge. This road runs parallel to the river and is approximately 1.5 miles long.
  • Get into the right-hand lane at Hampton Wick roundabout and cross the bridge. Staying in the central lane, follow the one way system under the bridge into Horsefair.
  • Staying in the central lane, bear right and follow the one-way system around and under the Railway Bridge. Continue until the bus garage is on your left-hand side and move into the right-hand lane.
  • Go through two sets of traffic lights and move over into the left-hand lane. You are now on Wheatfield Way. Continue around the one way system until you come to College roundabout where you need to bear left and pass the Renault garage.
  • Take the next turning on the left into Denmark Road. At the top of Denmark Road, cross the mini-roundabout into Portland Road and Middle Mill is approximately 250 meters further.

From the airports

From Heathrow

  • Catch the 111 or 285 bus straight to Kingston upon Thames; or
  • Take the Piccadilly line Underground service to Earls Court, where you need to change to the District Line. Alight at Wimbledon and catch a Kingston or Surbiton-bound mainline train.

From Gatwick

  • Take a train to Clapham Junction and then catch a Kingston or Surbiton-bound train from there.
