Daily Vacancy List
We run a free advertising service for local landlords who have rooms or properties to let to our students. When you add a vacancy to our list, it will be seen by undergraduate, postgraduate and research students (and the occasional member of staff) throughout the University.
The daily vacancy list is updated daily and circulated via our intranet site, email updates and our offices at Cooper House.
Code of Standards
Owners/landlords are invited to advertise their properties on our daily vacancy list, provided they are willing to sign up to our recommended Code of Standards. The purpose of this code is to ensure that:
- owners/landlords understand the requirements of student tenants;
- owners/landlords understand their legal obligations, particularly in relation to the Housing Act 2004;
- owners/landlords enjoy the benefits of successful letting to students;
- student tenants enjoy the benefits of good housing that is well managed;
- disagreements and misunderstandings are kept to a minimum; and
- problems and disputes are resolved satisfactorily.
Advertise your vacancy for free
To advertise on the list, simply download, complete and return our Code of Standards and Advertisement Form (PDF).
- Make sure you supply property and landlord details and read and sign the advertisement form.
- Enclose your Gas Safety Certificate.
- Post your completed forms, marked 'Attention DVL', to Accommodation Services.
Alternatively, you can call in to our office to complete the necessary forms.
After we receive your details, we will advertise your room or property for a two-week period. If it is still vacant after that time, phone us or email vaclist@kingston.ac.uk and we'll advertise it for a further two weeks.
We ask all landlords to inform us when their advertised vacancy is filled.
