Award verification

Graduates who completed their studies after April 2014 can access their Higher Education Achievement Report (HEAR) via Gradintelligence. You can share your HEAR with anyone, including prospective employers or education institutions. The HEAR holds details of your academic achievements and other activities completed during your time at Kingston University. See more information about HEAR.

If you completed your studies before April 2014, you can order a verification of award letter.

A verification of award letter confirms:

  • your final award title;
  • your classification;
  • your name whilst studying;
  • the date you achieved your award; and
  • the start and end date of your course.

It does not include the location of your course and the mode of study. You can send a verification of award letter to an external company, for example an employer.

If you require a detailed academic reference please visit our academic references for students page. Please note that academic references can normally only be provided within 18 months from the time you have left your studies.

Award verification for third parties

From time to time organisations need to request verification of past students' attendance and qualifications. These organisations include: prospective employers, employment and screening agencies, higher education institutions, local authorities and government bodies.

Graduates who completed their studies after April 2014 can share their Higher Education Achievement Report with third parties to allow them to view their report (including their course information and results). Please note this is an online verification system with the University's student database. See more information about HEAR.

If you require Kingston University to verify an award for students who completed their studies directly, please email with the following information:

  • The graduate's full name
  • The graduate's Kingston University ID number (if known)
  • The graduate's date of birth
  • The graduate's course of study
  • The graduate's date of attendance (if known)

To comply with the Data Protection Act we require signed consent from the graduate in order for us to release the information so please ensure this is sent with your request.

Our award verification will be sent to you as a standard PDF and will confirm the graduate's final award title, classification, name whilst studying, date of their award (if applicable) and the start and end date of their course.

We aim to reply to all award verification requests within 10 working days.
