Eligibility

The following needs to apply in order for you to be eligible to attend your ceremony.

  • You must have booked your tickets by Thursday 29 June 2017, 11.59pm (BST)
  • You must have paid all fees or charges owing to the University.
You cannot purchase tickets to your ceremony while you have any fees or charges owing to the University in relation to your studies. This does not include any non-academic debts.

Please make sure that you clear any outstanding academic debts at least a week before the ticket booking deadline. You can settle your debt by contacting the Debt Recovery team on +44(0)20 8328 7005 or by paying online. However, most library debts are not payable online so please contact the learning resources centres on +44(0)20 8417 3355 or in person before making any payment.
  • Your award must be agreed.
For all undergraduates who are due to graduate in July 2017, your award must be agreed by Wednesday 28 June 2017 in order for you to attend your ceremony. If you do not have your award agreed by this date, you'll be sent information from your faculty about the next steps you should take, and you will not be able to attend your ceremony. If you have a query about your results, you need to contact your faculty directly. The Graduations team will not be able to help you.

The following needs to apply in order for you to be eligible to attend your ceremony.

What happens to my booking if I don't achieve my award in time for my ceremony?

If you fail to achieve your award in time for your ceremony:

  • You will be notified by email that your booking has been cancelled approximately two weeks before your ceremony and you will not be able to attend.
  • A refund will be automatically processed (if necessary) within 25 days of receiving the email.

Please note that refunds will be processed back onto the original card used to make the payment.

If you have already ordered your gown but can no longer attend the ceremony, see how to get a refund from our gowning suppliers, Ede & Ravenscroft.

I am appealing my mark/award, how does this affect my graduation?

See our FAQs for more information.

Gown booking deadline dates

Book your gown via the Ede & Ravenscroft website by Monday 3 July 2017.

How to get your certificate if you don't attend your ceremony

It's important that you let us know if you do not intend on coming to your ceremony so that we can send you your certificate. Please log on to OSIS once you have received your ceremony invitation and let us know where you would like us to post your certificate by the ticket booking deadline. Failure to inform us if you are not attending may result in your certificate not being sent to you.
