The challenge we're facing

Government funding hasn't matched the dramatic growth in student numbers. There's now enormous pressure on the University to raise more money and fill the financial gap. If we don't do it, no one else will.

We're determined that teaching continues to flourish and students thrive at Kingston. That's why we've launched Kingston University's Annual Fund, to:

  • support the pursuit of academic and vocational excellence;
  • help students through the hard times; and
  • improve the University's facilities.

How you can help

See how your generosity will help life and learning at Kingston:

Who else is giving?

Whether it's to say 'thank you', or because they believe in education, or simply to make life a little fairer, people donate to the Annual Fund for lots of reasons. Here are two pretty good ones…

Katherine Metcalf

Katherine's reason:

"I have a great belief in the wide-reaching benefits of higher education, so I'm keen to support Kingston University. I am also a strong believer in the importance of the Student Hardship Fund. I empathise with anyone who wants to benefit from higher education and finds they can't access it, or has to give up, because they can't afford it. I wouldn't want that to happen to any of my children."
Katherine Metcalf, Early Years PGCE (1994)

Nick Stephens

Nick's reason:

"Kingston provided me with the technical knowledge and personal skills that have facilitated a fascinating and rewarding career in IT. I have predominantly worked for blue-chip companies, mostly in the finance sector and have managed my own limited company for the majority of my working life. I am convinced that Kingston University provided me with the foundation to achieve my goals. It is therefore a pleasure to provide a donation to the University which I believe is a truly excellent academic institution that continues to provide its students with a solid and invaluable foundation for their futures."

Nicholas Stephens, Computer Information Systems Design BSc (1989)

It's your choice

Big or small. Regular or one-off. Whatever you give and however you decide to give it, your generosity will make a positive difference to the lives and life of Kingston.

You can ask us to direct your donation to a specific area, or you can trust us to invest it where it's needed most. The choice is all yours. But whatever you decide, you can rest assured that your money will be used with care and discretion.

There's a little leaflet we've written about how a gift of just £10 a month can help ensure Kingston stays the happy and successful place it is today. If you want, you can read it now (PDF).

Together we can change the world

The results of your generosity won't just be felt in Kingston. With your help Kingston can continue to train teachers, geologists, engineers, nurses, radiographers, forensic scientists, lawyers, architects, surveyors, artists, writers, designers… vocations across the whole professional range.

You'll be helping to send people out into the world who can not only help solve its problems, but also enrich the lives of those around them. And for that we – and they – thank you.

Any questions?

If you'd like to talk to someone at Kingston before making your donation – maybe to discuss how it's used – please call Dr Helen Trott on +44 (0)20 8417 3222.
