More information

The Access Technology Rooms (ATR) are located within the Learning Resource Centres (LRC) at Penrhyn Road, Kingston Hill and Roehampton Vale.

The ATR is an open access, computer workstation room, which is set aside for the sole use of those students with disabilities including dyslexia, who require adaptive technology for their studies. The surroundings were carefully considered in order to provide a calm and user-friendly environment.

At Knights Park facilities for students with disabilities are provided within the LRC.

Registering for the ATR

All students who wish to use the ATR facilities need to obtain the LRC Access card from Disability and Dyslexia Services. Cards will be issued to those students with disabilities who require adaptive technology in order to access their studies. Students using the ATR present on request their University ID card and LRC Access card.

Help in using the ATR

Specialist IT training can be arranged, including one to one sessions. Help with any IT problems is also available by contacting the LRC Helpdesk in the LRC.

Booking workstations in the ATR

Students who require access to specific adaptive technology (not Read and Write or Inspiration) can pre book a workstation in the ATR provided 24 hours notice is given. LRC Access Cards will state if a student is allowed to pre book facilities.
