Bright Ideas competition

Bright Ideas is our annual student competition designed to give students from any discipline the opportunity to develop an idea, have it evaluated and win a prize. Students can enter with any sort of idea which solves a problem or need, wish or desire. The individual or group whose problem you're solving can be anyone or any group, as long as they are real.

Who is it for?

Bright Ideas is open to Kingston University students from any faculty and any level. You don't have to have a business idea to enter the competition, neither do you need any formal business knowledge!

There are five categories in which your idea may be entered:

  • Freelance/ self-employed brand;
  • social enterprise;
  • STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Maths);
  • products & services; and
  • improving Kingston University.

There's also the option to enter on your own and/or as part of a team. If you think your idea doesn't fit into any of these, don't worry we update categories based on entries.

Important dates

  • Application closing date: 30 November 2018
  • Bright Ideas Sprint: 19 20 January 2019
  • Final (including pitching and prize giving): 6 February 2019
