Our Quaker faith springs from the experience that each one of us can have a direct relationship with the Divine. We Quakers find that by meeting together for communal worship we are empowered to find peace and strength for work in the world. Meetings are mainly held in silence as we believe communal waiting on God’s guidance is best done that way rather than through formal prayers or a set liturgy. Since our foundation in the 1600s in England Quakers have tried to make a practical witness to our religious convictions. Quakers are especially active in peace work, human rights and social reform.
Quakers have worshipped in Kingston since the 1650s and we meet weekly at 78 Eden Street (next to Primark). If you are interested in living spiritually but find organised religions not quite right for you, give us a try.
