Campus information

University campuses

The University is based at four main campuses – Penrhyn Road, Knights Park, Kingston Hill and Roehampton Vale – with buildings of varying accessibility.
Each site has its own Learning Resource Centre (LRC) and restaurant.

All are connected by free University buses to the local rail and bus stations as well as to most of the University halls of residence.

The University is continually working towards improving accessibility. However, physical access at the University does vary from site to site, and there are still some buildings and teaching areas that may present difficulties.

We therefore invite prospective students to discuss access requirements with the disability advisor and to visit sites relevant to their course. This is essential to enable a detailed and accurate assessment of accessibility.

Visit our DisabledGo entry for an overview of access across the University.

Cooper House

This modern building is sited approximately 100 metres from the Penrhyn Road campus. The Student Information and Advice Centre is based here and offers a range of services for all students, including:

  • Accommodation;
  • Admissions;
  • Careers;
  • Payments;
  • Student Funding; and
  • Student Information.

There are automatic doors to the ground floor and lift access to all floors.

Catering facilities

Each campus has a restaurant providing meals, snacks and drinks. Opening hours and access vary and are limited in the evenings and in vacations. Details are available at campus receptions.

If you have any special dietary requirements, please contact the restaurant manager of the refectory for advice.

Local transport

The free University bus service, some with low-level access, runs between the campuses, Kingston town centre and most halls of residence. The service is available Monday to Friday during the day, term-time only. Timetables and details are available from main receptions.

Kingston town centre is mainly pedestrianised, and has a Shopmobility Scheme. There are two mainline stations – Kingston and Surbiton – and numerous local bus routes.

If you are an orange or blue badge holder, you will also be eligible for a University disabled-parking permit.
