English for Academic and Professional Development

Based at Kingston University Penrhyn road campus, the English for Academic and Professional Development (EAPD) team offer general and tailor-made English as a foreign language courses for students and staff within the university and in the wider community.

We are a team of experienced English language tutors and lecturers specialising in designing and implementing English language programmes for a range of purposes including general, academic, foundational and professional courses.

For prospective students planning to study at Kingston University or another Higher Education Institution in the UK, our Pre-sessional English courses provide preparation in the language and skills necessary for academic study. They can also help you to achieve the English level required for your chosen study.

For current students at Kingston University, we offer a range of free language and skills courses to help support them on their academic journey and help them to excel on their degree programmes. These in-sessional courses include academic skills and English language classes and degree-specific courses. We also welcome enquiries from academic staff who would like bespoke English and Academic Skills classes embedded onto their modules.

For people in the wider community who would like to practice English alongside Kingston students and staff, you can join our General English classes running during term time.

For delegates in other educational, private or corporate institutions, we welcome enquiries on building tailor-made programmes for visiting groups for both academic and professional development.
