About this course
Why choose this course?
This course is ideal if you would like to join one of Kingston’s engineering degrees, but need a preparatory period of study. It provides an alternative entry route if you are a mature student who has non-standard entry qualifications, or if you have not studied mathematics or science at an appropriate level but have the ability and motivation needed to succeed on your chosen degree.
Once you have completed the foundation year, you can join an honours degree of your choice in the fields of aerospace engineering, civil (including construction) engineering, and mechanical (including automotive, motorcycle and motorsport) engineering.
What will you study?
The curriculum covers the basic knowledge and study skills you will need for your degree. You will study applied mathematics and applied science, together with business, communications, study skills, computing and laboratory techniques. You will also use Kingston’s extensive engineering laboratory facilities, and learn how to collect and analyse data in engineering experiments.
