'Making Nature' exhibition at Wellcome Collection

Thursday 1 December - Sunday 21 May 2017

The question of how humans relate to other animals has captivated philosophers, anthropologists, scientists, ethicists and artists for centuries.This collection will bring together over 100 objects from literature, film, taxidermy and photography to examine what we think, feel and value about other species and the consequences this has for the world around us.

Visit Kingston: Visiting crafts and antique markets in Spring

Thames Philharmonic Choir: Spring Concert

Thames Philharmonic Choir perform Vaughan Williams' 'Sancta Civitas'

Vaughan Williams' haunting cantata, written in response to the First World War, describes the end of time and the descent of the holy city from Heaven. It is a visionary work of great power, rarely performed due to the complex choral input, including a distant children's choir. This performance is at the request of the late Ian Buist, scholar, humanitarian, gay rights activist and distinguished civil servant, who sang Sanctas Civitas with the Oxford Bach Choir, conducted by Vaughan Williams himself. The choir will be joined by Wimbledon Youth Choir and trebles from Shrewsbury House School, Surbiton.
