Empowering partnerships conference

The Faculty of Health, Social Care and Education is pleased to present this major one-day staff and graduate conference.

The conference represents an opportunity for staff, graduates and NHS, social care and education colleagues with links to the Faculty to share experiences and network in relaxed and comfortable surroundings away from the immediate demands of work.

The purpose of the conference is to share good practices and demonstrate how working collaboratively inspires research, learning and teaching processes and practice. It provides an opportunity to celebrate and disseminate successes and give prominence to the capacity of the organisation to foster excellence through co-operative engagement to achieve common goals.

The key message is that collaboration is a powerful and influential force.

Through the sharing of best practice the conference aims to improve the quality of practice and enhance the student experience. Moreover it is instrumental in enabling staff to personally develop and undertake research and scholarly activity as well as strengthening the Faculty's relationships with stakeholders. All of which is significant in the provision and delivery of high quality education, service and care.

The conference programme features a number of prominent keynote speakers, including Lord Willis of Knaresbrorough, Julie Screaton (managing director, Health Education South London), Professor Jan Fook and Professor Scott Reeves. Delegates can choose to participate in a wide range of workshops which will address the following themes:

  • Collaborative research
  • Practice education
  • Professional public involvement
  • Shared good practice
  • Student/Mentor experience

Refreshments will be available throughout the day and the conference will finish with a drinks reception.

Attendance is by invitation only.
