NHS Citizen: connecting national and local debates about health and social care

Centre for Public Engagement Seminar

NHS Citizen aims to answer a simple question: what is the best way for NHS England to take into account the views of all the public when it makes decisions? The aim of NHS Citizen is to form a new culture of collaboration between NHS England and the public. Key to this collaboration will be the links that NHS Citizen can help to make between local debates and challenges within the health and social care economy and the larger strategic decisions that the NHS England Board is taking.

In this interactive workshop – which is hosted by the Centre of Public Engagement – Simon Burall will describe the NHS Citizen system and the highly collaborative way in which it has been designed. He'll explore with participants whether and how this model might help develop a new culture of collaboration with NHS England.
