Death in the digital era

When a beloved person dies in this modern era, his or her death brings digital, virtual and online aspects with it, in addition to what family members and friends have had to cope with in the past. Even if the word 'death' is something we'd rather not think about, we should however bear 'death in the digital era' in mind and pay attention to it, as so much of the assets, legacy and original content we'll be leaving behind - and our loved ones will leave behind - will be digital, virtual and online. Dealing with these modern aspects is more than just technical: it is also legal, ethical, financial, philosophical and emotional.

Led by Vered (Rose) Shavit, an Israeli blogger and independent researcher.
