Research seminar: Diagnostic radiography student's perceptions of interprofessional collaboration

There is a large body of evidence to suggest that interprofessional collaboration improves patient care and reduces errors.

Interprofessional education was introduced in order to prepare healthcare professionals for interprofessional collaborative teamwork. Despite this, post-graduation feedback from employers and newly qualified radiographers, as well as the observations of the researcher indicates that radiography students find interprofessional collaborative teamwork challenging.

This suggests that preparation of students for this role is not as effective as it might be. In light of a dearth of interprofessional radiography specific literature, this study explores student's perceptions of interprofessional teamwork and the perceived barriers/challenges to collaboration. Understanding their perceptions would allow for appropriate educational strategies to be included in the curriculum to better prepare them for interprofessional collaboration.

Sherrill Spencer will discuss diagnostic radiography student's perceptions of Interprofessional collaboration.

This is a lunchtime seminar, so feel free to bring your lunch along with you.
