Jazz First Tuesday – Jo Fooks Trio

Kingston University presents a free lunchtime jazz session with talented saxophonist Jo Fooks. Jo won the Young Scottish Jazz Musician of the Year award in 1992 and went onto study saxophone at the Guildhall School of Music in London and the Berkley School of Music in Boston.

After recording her debut album Here and Now, the legendary British trumpeter Hymphrey Lyttelton invited her to join his eight piece band with whom she toured and performed. Other influences include Illinois Jacquet, Sonny Rollins and Dexter Gorden. Jo has composed her own music since 2004 and her latest CD is titled Back for More.
