Creating people advantage: From research to practice

This event focuses on the impact of HR on strategy and economic performance of an organisation, viewed from both academic and practitioner perspectives. This is the second in a series of 'From Research to Practice' HR seminars jointly organised by Kingston Business School and the CIPD. The key feature of these seminars is that they bring together academic experts from Kingston University and leading practitioners.

Speakers

Pieter Haen, President of World Federation of People Management Associations (WFPMA) 2012-2014

Pieter was President of the World Federation of People Management Associations WFPMA from 2012 - October 2014 and is currently serving as Immediate Past President on the WFPMA Board. He also served as secretary general / treasurer WFPMA from 2010-2012. Peter was President of the European Association for People Management (EAPM) and Vice President of the Dutch Association for people Management and Organizational development NVP. He is a speaker and chair at many international conferences on strategic HR and co-author of a number of papers and reports in the field. In 2009 he received the Global HR Leadership Award in Mumbai (India) and he is an honorary member of NVP.

Dr Jelena Petrovic, Kingston University

Jelena is Associate Professor and Director of Postgraduate HRM programmes at Kingston University. She has over 20 years of experience in research and teaching in strategic leadership and international HRM on MBA, Masters and executive programmes at the universities in the UK and internationally. Her doctoral research on board directors in international joint ventures has received the Emerald / European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) award. Jelena has also been actively engaged in professional collaborations through conducting research and consultancy. Examples include Mercer (formerly Organization Resources Counselors (ORC) Inc.- a subsidiary of Marsh & McLennan Companies), Centre for Research into the Management of Expatriation (CReME - a joint venture between ORC Inc. and Cranfield School of Management), Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), the Guardian and BT.

Registration: 6:30 - 7:00pm

Presentations: 7:00 - 8:30pm followed by a drinks reception
