Cafe Scientifique: Lies, Damned Lies, Science and Theology. Why everyone needs to know the truth about science and religion.

Pop along to Cafe Scientifique and enjoy the discussion over a drink. You don't need to be involved in science or technology to join us – just have an interest and open mind.

Discussion point

Despite a vast amount of scholarly literature to the contrary, the idea that science and religion are essentially in conflict remains remarkably persistent in popular culture, the education system, and within the churches. This talk explores popular myths about science and religion, the academic literature, and offers ways of enabling a more informed approach to be more widely appreciated.

What to expect

A short informal talk to introduce the topic followed by questions, answers and general discussion. The evening is designed to appeal to anyone with an interest in science and technology – and takes place in surroundings where anyone can feel comfortable asking a question.

So, tell your friends, family and anyone else who springs to mind!
