Speaker(s): Richard Spenser and Yasser al-Hajji
This will be an intimate conversation between two of the most influential journalists covering the conflict in Syria. Richard Spenser is the Daily Telegraph's Middle East editor and a seasoned foreign correspondent, and Yasser al-Hajji is a Syrian journalist who frequently works with Western reporters, taking them into the stories that make front page news. He has helped break a number of major stories, including the Syrian regime's use of chemical weapons against civilians. This is a rare chance to hear about the challenges of covering such a fraught and dangerous conflict, and how Western reporters and local journalists work together.
