Integrity Research Group seminar series: Integrity and the EU - An Overview of the European Rules of Good Behaviour

Dr Alessandro Rosanò (University of Padua) will be presenting an overview of the relationships between integrity and the EU, with a particular focus on the European Rules of Good Behaviour. Starting from some concrete cases, Alessandro will investigate the possible legal bases for integrity particularly amongst the many codes of good behaviour, such as the Code of Conduct for Commissioners (2011), the Code of Conduct for Members of the European Parliament with respect to Financial Interests and Conflict of Interest (2012), and Code of Conduct for Members and Former Members of the Court of Justice of the European Union (2016). He will then consider the role of the Member States in the promotion of integrity and the problem of the very same definition of Integrity.

Alessandro Rosanò is an attorney and Teaching Fellow of European Union Law and International Law at the University of Padova Law School. He holds a PhD in Law from the same Law School. His research interests focus on the harmonisation of Criminal Law in the European Union legal framework, the case law of the Court of Justice of the European Union in criminal matters, and the protection of fundamental rights in Europe.
