Kingston Festival of the Voice Concert

The themes of this year's Kingston Festival of the Voice follow those of the Cultural Olympiad, two in particular being heroism and young people.  St Nicolas, hero of the fourth-century church, emerges dramatically from the pages of Britten's score, striding across the centuries to tell his story, some of the events of which are recounted with the help of children's voices.  There is also scope for audience participation in two well-known hymns.
