Ukraine Civil Protection – from Chernobyl to Current Anti-terrorist Operations in Ukraine

Major-General Mykhaylo Kozyar is an expert on civil protection and emergency response, who has worked in these fields in Ukraine and elsewhere, for over 30 years, since the final decade of the Soviet Union. He will describe his experience of the post-Chernobyl civil protection operations in 1986, the Spitak deathly earthquake in Armenia, then actions in Karabach on the disputed Armenian-Azerbaijan border, emergency situations in post-Soviet Ukraine over the last 25 years, leading up to the current  anti-terrorist operations activity in Eastern Ukraine. Senior lieutenant Andrij Havrys will assist Rector General Mykhaylo Kozyar.
