An audience with Lemn Sissay

This year's Kingston University Big Read features My Name is Leon, a moving story about a boy's progress through the care system. We are therefore delighted to be able to offer an associated event with Lemn Sissay, probably the UK's best known care-leaver.

Lemn Sissay, MBE is the author of several books of poetry as well as articles, records, public art, and plays. He was the official poet for the London Olympics in 2012, for the FA Cup in 2015 and his edition of Desert Island Discs was 'Pick of the Year' for BBC Radio in 2015. His Landmark Poems are installed throughout Manchester and London in venues such as the Royal Festival Hall and the Olympic Park. Bishop Desmond Tutu unveiled his poem 'Gilt of Cain'. He is currently Chancellor of the University of Manchester.

Booking is essential to attend this event.
