Variety Cafe: Amelia Hope and Will Franden

A series of free lunchtime concerts supported by Kingston University. Come along for an exciting mix of emerging artists and alumni performances.

Kingston University presents a free lunchtime session with talented vocalist Amelia Hope and London based electric and upright bassist Will Franden.  The duo will be playing a mix of jazz, R&B and soul originals plus new re-arrangements of cover songs. Focussing her music career in London Amelia writes songs with jazz chords in mind on which she lays her soulful colours. This will be reflected in her upcoming neo-soul/R&B album which she is co-writing with Dimitris Dimopoulos who reached no 1 in the UK soul charts with Sparkle by Sulene Fleming.

Will graduated  from Kingston University with a Bachelor of Music (Hons). He regularly performs at The Big Easy London, and has previously toured with Dona Oxford (Albert Lee, Van Morrison). He is currently releasing an album with Stacy Parrish (Robert Plant, T-Bone Burnett), regularly performs with Georgia and The Vintage Youth and has previous clients including EMI, BBC and Sky News. He also teaches privately and has provided creative consultancy for Trinity Rock and Pop.
