Writers' Centre Kingston: Remembering

Please join us for this year's WCK seminar series - each is themed, with three speakers responding to a concept with a new reading or talk or performance. The speakers are both guests to the Centre as well as those drawn from the academic staff at Kingston University, home of WCK. Student readings often accompany this main programme.

The theme for this event is remembering, bringing together three remarkable speakers, each acclaimed in their fields of fiction, theatre and history respectively. Each of the three speakers will respond as they see fit to the theme - with a new piece of literature or an informal talk, an academic lecture or a performance. They might shape or excerpt a previous work for the night or create brand new fiction, non-fiction, theatre or poetry. Their choice of medium is as creatively free as their choice of message. Each presentation will last around ten minutes followed by a short discussion and a Q&A with the audience to close.

This event will be opened with the launch of Strays, a new book by James Miller, senior lecturer in creative writing at Kingston, and Julia Rose Lewis, recent alumni.
