School of Education Centenary Exhibition

‘100 years of educating the educators 1917-2017'

In October 2017, the School of Education (established in 1917 as Gipsy Hill Training College in Upper Norwood, South-East London) will be celebrating 100 years of training teachers. The purpose of our exhibition is to display the items that both celebrate our history and illustrates how this links in with the work we do today. Items on display will highlight the teaching practice and the community ethos of both Gipsy Hill Training College and the School of Education, as well as the founding of Gipsy Hill and the impact that it had on the Kingston Hill site when it moved here in 1946.

The exhibition is split across three locations on campus that were key places when the campus was dedicated to the Gipsy Hill Training College. Please see below for a map to the campus and our Gipsy Trail map of the exhibition.

This event is free.

Opening hours: 9.00am - 5.00pm Monday-Friday. However, if you would like to visit outside of these hours please contact Bex Hall or Michelle Griffiths to see if it will be possible.

For more information about the event view the trail map.
