Learning Disability Week 2021 Celebration Event

This is a celebration of Learning Disability Nursing's adaptation and contribution to Friendships and Relationships

About this event
Kingston St Georges Learning Disability Nurses are hosting this event to reflect on friendships and relationships as part of Learning Disability Week 2021.

This collaboration between Kingston St Georges Learning Disability Nursing Team, the Kingston Nursing Society and students marks a challenging year for people with learning disabilities, their families and our students. We have all made adaptations to the way we live our lives and maintain our relationships with others. For our front line clinicians and students in placement this has meant developing new and innovative approaches to supporting people with learning disabilities to maintain engagement and connections with each other, while students and academics have had to support each other to ensure progression through the Nursing programme.

This event has contributions from Prof Irene Tuffrey Wijne, Giselle Cope – Foundation of Nursing Studies, along with Kingston St Georges Academics, students and Practice Partners on these themes, the challenges and the ways they have maintained perspective and focus on people with learning disabilities living health safe and fulfilled lives.

Booking is essential to attend this event.
