A talk with illustrations: London Irish fictions and 'I only came over for a couple of years...'

Tony Murray is Director of the Irish Studies Centre at London Metropolitan University. He is curator of the Archive of the Irish in Britain and runs the annual Irish Writers in London summer school. He co-produced 'I only came over for a couple of years...' (2005), a documentary film about elderly Irish people in London, and researches literary and cultural representations of the Irish diaspora. His book, London Irish fictions: narrative, diaspora and identity, was published by Liverpool University Press in 2012.

Tony will be talking about London Irish fictions and showing extracts from the film. His talk will be of general interest, and especially for students in English literature, creative writing, film, history, and Irish studies.
