Balsam Bash

A Balsam Bash is where volunteers help to uproot the invasive species Himalayan Balsam, which can overtake river banks, causing winter erosion, and losses of plant diversity. Himalayan Balsam is a very fast growing non-native species which spreads rapidly via its ‘exploding' seed pods – one individual can produce up to 800 seeds, flinging each one as far as 7 metres away.

Fun in the sun and very satisfying, this event will help keep the spread of this invasive species in check.

What to bring:
Long sleeved clothes, wellie boots and lots of enthusiasm
We will provide all other equipment, instructions and refreshments.

Please register by by Sunday 1st June 2014 (we need to know numbers to provide equipment).

Booking is essential to attend this event.
