About this course
Why choose this course?
Fashion is a fascinating and complex phenomenon; an expression of what people feel and think. It’s about evolution and radical change; a mix of design, marketing, media and business with cultural, social, historical, economic and even political influences.
People working in fashion are barometers of their times – anticipating and generating change. The taste for newness creates challenges for designers to satisfy an increasingly sophisticated and discerning market. This user-focused approach is fundamental to the design philosophy of Kingston’s fashion course.
What will you study?
The course covers all aspects of the design process, from research and design development to creating garments using cut and construction. Design history underpins studio-based projects, with overseas study trips offered in each year.
