Dietrich Grünewald, born in 1947 in Frankenberg, Germany, studied art-education, art-history, German literature und language, gratuated in 1972 and 1977 (teacher), and in 1975 (Dr. phil.) with his Dissertation abaout the satirical magazine "Eulenspiegel" (University of Gießen). He was teacher in Frankfurt/Main, became Science-Assistent in 1977 (University of Dortmund, Institut of Art and Art-Education). He got his habilitation in 1980, and became professor in 1985. Since 1995 he is professor for art-science and art-education at the University of Koblenz-Landau (Institut für Kunstwissenschaft/ Bildende Kunst, Koblenz). He was president of BUND DEUTSCHER KUNSTERZIEHER (association of german art-education-teachers), is editor of KUNST + UNTERRICHT (art and education -magazine), and published books and articles in art-science and art-education. Together with J. Debicki (Poland), J.-F. Favre (France) and A. F. Pimentel (Portugal) he wrote History of Art (Paris 1995).
