Getting ready for your future

We make sure you make the most of your time at Kingston University.

Our innovative three-year business and law degrees have been redesigned to help you get ahead in your studies and your career. These distinctive degrees aim to better prepare you for the world of work – they include an integrated work placement or professional internship, business and professional readiness modules and a professional qualification and pathway – all in three years not four. Our real estate management students also have the opportunity of doing a work related placement in the third term of years two and three.

Today's employers are seeking graduates who are work-ready as well as academically qualified. Our Business and Professional Readiness programmes aim to equip you with the skills that will enable you to undertake a work placement or internship with confidence. They include key skills such as:

  • building and maintaining a career-enhancing professional network;
  • self-management – developing a personal plan for success;
  • time management and delivering to deadlines;
  • the professional and business etiquette that gains respect in the workplace; and
  • working as a team – and organising an effective team.

Our Business and Professional Experience (BPEX) team will provide you with dedicated support and help you to prepare for your placement or internship option. This includes assisting you with the application process, writing your CV and cover letters and getting ready for interviews.

Want to spend some time abroad as part of your course?

Have you thought about studying abroad – either in Europe or the US – as part of your course?

Kingston runs a Study Abroad scheme which gives you the chance to spend up to a year studying in Europe, the US, Hong Kong or New Zealand. You don't always even need a second language to study overseas as many courses are taught in English.
