Our Scholars graduate with Distinctions across many disciplines: nursing, teaching, science, literature and engineering. This cohort join their respective industries with a great depth of knowledge, inspired by the investment that they have received, and eager to prove themselves and make an impact on society.
This vital fund supports needy students with the often considerable costs of final-year geosciences fieldwork. It was set up in 1996 in memory of Doug Whitten who effectively founded the School of Geography, Geology and the Environment when we first began to teach geology here in 1946.
