Kingston is a university that has placed research right at the centre of its vision.
A full-on engagement with the problems that the world faces today coupled with dynamic thinking, means our research is both vital and cutting edge.
Here are just a couple of the innovative research projects that Kingston are currently undertaking in order to make that big difference in the wider world:
With the help of the National Institute of Health Research, Professor Vari Drennan and Laura Cole have carried out research into the challenges of managing incontinence in people with dementia who live at home. The study investigated carers' perceptions on the range of problems encountered when helping relatives who experienced this condition and also looked at ways in which carers managed the challenges that they encountered.
Research is being carried out in the areas of sustainable development and local democracy by Dr John Stanton. Focusing on how communities can be allowed to develop in a way that will create pleasant, healthy, wealthy and desirable local environments, this study is also about keeping local citizens involved in decision-making processes.
