Tickets
You must have a ticket if you want to attend your graduation ceremony. You are advised not to make any travel or accommodation arrangements until you have received your invitation email and are sure you are eligible to attend your ceremony.
Graduation Support Fund
We understand that some students may be unable to attend their graduation ceremony if they cannot meet the cost of tickets for their guests and/or gown hire. Students who are facing financial hardship have the opportunity to submit an application to receive up to two guest tickets and gown hire, free of charge, from the Graduation Support Fund (for their ceremony day).
There are a limited number of Graduation Support Funds available and these will be issued on a first-come, first-served basis, if all application criteria are met. Please note, this fund is for UK undergraduates and postgraduates only.
Gown hire
Wearing your academic gown is a time-honoured tradition and a highlight of the graduation experience. Kingston University works with our official gowning partner, Graduation Attire, to ensure you look and feel your best on the day.
Kingston’s gowns are black and grey with bands of blue in different areas of the garment to reflect the level of award achieved. When you book with Graduation Attire, you can find their measuring guide for the gown and hat to help you choose the size that will fit you best.
We encourage everyone to wear 'academic dress' (gown, hood and hat) at their graduation ceremony. It's not compulsory, but most graduates choose to.
Ready to order your gown?
Graduation Attire is our official supplier of graduation robes. Check out their website for more information.
Photography
Capture this milestone moment with our official photographers, H Tempest. On the day, photographers will be available for both studio portraits and on-stage shots.
You don’t need to book in advance, you can visit the studios straight after collecting your gown and choose from a range of packages, from individual portraits to group photos with family and friends. All are tailored to create lasting memories of your special day.
Once captured, your photos can be ordered as prints, digital downloads or keepsake packages such as framed portraits or photobooks.
Please note, there are other photography companies who offer graduation photography. These companies are not supported by the University, so there is no guarantee of quality. If you choose to use a company other than H Tempest, it is at your own risk.
