Your LRC Access card can also enable you to use the equipment in the Assistive Technology Rooms in the LRCs. If you are assessed as requiring any of this software or specialist equipment this will be indicated on your Access card.
The ATRs (and special LRC areas at KP and RV) have the following:
- TextHelp Read & Write – especially useful for dyslexic people
- Inspiration and MindManager – mind mapping software
- ZoomText, Jaws and Supernova – screen readers and magnification
- Kurzweil – scanning software
- Scanners
- Split screen CCTV

Some students are entitled to use the equipment if it is free and other students have priority booking rights for the machines enabling booking in advance for a particular piece of equipment. Bookings are made at the local Enquiry Desk.
