Physical access to the LRCs
All of the 4 LRCs are accessible to students with disabilities.
Each LRC has the following:
- an Assistive Technology Room with specialist software and equipment
- Photocopiers with the ability to enlarge
- Height adjustable study tables
- Caption decoding devices for video/DVD playback with subtitles
Kingston Hill
The LRC is a separate building at the lower end of the campus with parking spaces for disabled users nearby, located outside the adjacent Business School. The entrance is on the ground floor level and there is a public lift inside the LRC to the first and second floors. Accessible toilets are available on the ground and first floor inside the LRC. Despite some changes in level within the building, access is enabled via ramps.
Penrhyn Road
The entrance to the Penrhyn Road LRC is on the ground floor, off the main corridor leading from the central University reception area. Disabled car parking is available at the front of the Penrhyn Road campus as well as in the Fassett Road car park.
The LRC is on 4 floors with access via a lift on the ground floor. If you require access to the main building via the LRC lift, please contact a member of staff on the LRC reception desk who will be able to arrange this for you and unlock the door leading to the main building corridor. If the LRC lift is out of order LRC staff can help with an alternative route via the main building lift. There is one accessible toilet on the ground floor within the LRC.
Knights Park
The LRC at Knights Park is on the first floor with access for students with mobility difficulties via the Tower Block lift. The second entrance to the LRC uses the staircase to the left hand side of the main reception, to the first floor, and then along the Architecture corridor.
Both entrances are available during opening hours. Disabled car parking is available near the site reception. There is one accessible toilet on the ground floor.
Roehampton Vale
The LRC at Roehampton Vale is on the ground floor and is situated close to the main reception area. There is an accessible toilet on the ground floor near the LRC.
