Vane Ivanovic Library and Archive
Over 5000 books on history of the Balkans which belonged to Vane Ivanovic (1913-1999) an athlete, ship owner, collector, philanthropist, and diplomat who, during his many years of exile from Communist Yugoslavia after World War II, worked towards a democratic and united Yugoslavia.
The English language books which make up over half the library can be searched on iCat library search. If you go to the search page, type in your keyword and press ‘Search’ you will bring up a list of books relating to your subject in the entire library catalogue. If you then look on the left hand side under ‘Refine my Search’ there will be the option ‘LRC Collection’, and under this ‘Vane Ivanovic Library’. If you click on this that will narrow the search to books in the Ivanovic Library. There are a number of books in this collection in Serbo Croatian and other languages which are uncatalogued at present. However these can be retrieved for readers on request at 48 hours notice.
