Sri Lanka

Welcome to the country information for students from Sri Lanka.

With nearly 20,000 students, including international students from 154 countries, and 38 students from Sri Lanka, Kingston University is the largest provider of higher education in south-west London, offering an extensive range courses in business, law, engineering, science, computing, the arts, social sciences, art and design.

In Sri Lanka, Kingston is particularly well known for its aerospace and aircraft engineering courses and we have many Sri Lankan students studying on these programmes.

Based in an attractive location on the River Thames, just 25 minutes from central London, Kingston is known for its career-focussed courses and excellent teaching quality.

  • Kingston is consistently rated one of the safest London boroughs (Metropolitan Police) as well as one of the happiest places to live in London (Rightmove).
  • Kingston University "is diverse and proud of it, with one of the UK's most ethnically mixed student populations" (The Guardian, 2013).
  • Kingston is one of the top universities in the country for graduate start-ups and has an excellent reputation in integrating entrepreneurial skills across all our faculties.
  • Our art and design courses are consistently among the top in the UK (Guardian University Guide) and ranked in the top 200 in the world (QS)

International postgraduate and undergraduate scholarships

Kingston University also offers international scholarships of £4,000, open to students from Sri Lanka as well as the rest of the world. Scholarships are awarded based on academic merit.
