Getting to Kingston: Meet & Greet Service

Please check back closer to the time for full details of the September 2010 service.

What is the Meet & Greet Service?

Kingston University provides an airport pickup service (the Meet & Greet Service) to welcome you to the UK.

This service ensures that you are met personally at Heathrow (LHR) or Gatwick (LGW) airport and arrive quickly and safely at your accommodation in Kingston.

In addition to the pickup service, we set up an international welcome centre where you can:

  • pick up a welcome pack containing useful information, such as bus and campus maps;
  • meet other students, speak to staff and get visa advice; and
  • access the internet and call home.

When does it run?

Please check back closer to the time for details for September 2010.

How will I be met?

If you have successfully completed the Meet & Greet Service booking form, you will receive a confirmation email within three days and we will be expecting you. (The September 2010 booking form will be available closer to the time.)

A member of staff or an affiliated taxi driver will be waiting for you as you exit Customs. They will be clearly identifiable (wearing 'Kingston University London' t-shirts and/or carrying signs with the 'Kingston University London' logo).

Remember to switch your mobile phone on when you arrive in the airport terminal in the UK (especially if you are held up in customs) so that we can contact you.

If you have any difficulty finding a member of staff, please go to the airport information desk in the arrivals hall and ask for a public announcement to be made for any Kingston University representatives.

What else do I need to know?

  • The Meet & Greet Service is ONLY available at Heathrow and Gatwick Airports during the dates stated. (September 2010 dates will be available closer to the time.)

  • We recommend booking a flight that arrives between 06.00 and 17.00.

  • Staff will take you and your accompanying luggage to your accommodation. You will need to make separate arrangements for any luggage that needs to be collected from the airport’s cargo department.

  • Note that buses and trains do not operate throughout the night.

  • You must notify your landlord/landlady or halls manager of your arrival details.
