Orientation and welcome events: Essential Welcome and Orientation Day
The Essential Welcome and Orientation day is designed to help you learn about Kingston University, the services on offer, the local area and what studying in the UK is like. We highly recommend that you attend.
When: Thursday 16 September, 9.30am–4.00pm
Where: Meet at the Rose Theatre, Kingston
What to wear: Casual clothes and comfortable shoes for walking
What to bring: Spending money for the day (we will provide a free lunch) and a pen and paper (to take notes during the afternoon seminar)
How to book: The event is free but you will need to register so that we can secure your place. Register online now.
The day will include:
- an official welcome from senior staff and an introduction to important services;
- guided tours of Kingston town centre and certain University campuses;
- a free lunch;
- an international information fair – where you can get information about finding part-time/student jobs, visas, and the different University departments and services available to students; and
- seminar called ‘Adjusting to Learning and Teaching Techniques in the UK’, designed to help you understand your new learning environment.
The International Welcome Centre will be open until 7.00pm (and then our Welcome Reception starts at 7.00pm)
If you are a Study Abroad student, your induction and enrolment will take place from 3.00pm–6.00pm (in room JG10003 – don't worry, we will explain how to get to this room when you arrive!)
