Nigeria

This guide is for students from Nigeria interested in studying at Kingston University.

Studying at Kingston

Kingston University has welcomed students from Nigeria into many departments, including Business, Engineering and Science.

Academic excellence

Students from Nigeria are attracted to Kingston University due to its international reputation for teaching quality, supportive learning environment and close proximity to London.

In 2010, The Sunday Times noted that "Kingston has one of the best teaching records of the country's modern universities with 15 subjects rated excellent under the now abandoned teaching assessment programme. It sets out to make sure students have transferable skills and offers a range of work-based courses."

In-country representatives

As part of our ongoing commitment to Nigerian students we now have a Kingston University in-county representative based in the Victoria Island Lagos branch of British Canadian International Education (BCIE). BCIE provide a friendly and supportive service to Nigerian students wanting to study at Kingston. They make the application process as smooth as possible to help you to make most of your study experience in the UK. Services include application guidance, visa counselling, and pre-arrival support.

In-country visits

We visit Nigeria at least twice a year and look forward to meeting you there.

Michael Irene

Name: Michael Irene

Course: Creative Writing MA

"The University supports my studies by organising seminars, workshops and discussions, just to mention a few things. The main strength of the course is the availability of information one can gather about pursuing writing as a career. The neat environs and well-orchestrated buildings are facilities that other universities would crave.

What I like most about Kingston University is the diversity of the students. The fact that you can meet different people from all over the world is an amazing plus to one's education. Through this, I have been able to learn new social norms, cultural values and eaten other cuisines."
