Welcome to Kingston University

Congratulations on being offered your new position with Kingston University. We look forward to welcoming you on your first day of employment and have prepared some important pre-arrival information on this page.

Work health assessment

Following your acceptance you will be contacted directly by email by our Occupational Health provider Health Management Ltd (HML). They will ask you to complete and submit the relevant Health Assessment Questionnaire for your role before your first day of employment.

Personal information

Your personal information, contact details, National Insurance number etc. will be transferred to your Unified employee record from your application form.

Seven days before your start date you will receive an email (to your personal address) with your KU ID number, instructions on how to log in to the KU network and other important information for new starters.

Your first day

On your first day of work please report to your line manager at your allocated time and bring with you:

  • Continuous service verification (if applicable)
  • Evidence of relevant qualifications (if you did not bring them with you to interview)

IT services

Please read the IT services staff guide (PDF), which provides new staff with an overview of working with the IT systems at Kingston University. Once you have your login details please don't hesitate to contact the Service Desk or any technical support or issues.

Pension information

As an employee of Kingston University you have a statutory entitlement to be a member of the relevant pension scheme. Eligible members of academic staff are automatically entered into the Teachers' Pensions Scheme. Please read the Teachers' Pensions Scheme document (PDF) and download, complete and submit any relevant forms.

Members of support staff will automatically become a member of the Local Government Pension Scheme, which is administered by the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames. Please read the Local Government Pension Scheme guidance (PDF) and download, complete and submit any relevant forms.
