The Rise and Rise of Brand Austen
Last autumn, ITV’s Lost in Austen series wittily took the Austenadaptation craze to new lengths by depicting a 21st-century reader who really did get ‘lost in Austen’. In this talk, Professor Norma Clarke of Kingston University, will discuss Jane Austen’s life and writings and reflect on the qualities that make her so appealing and adaptable – or not.
