Learning support
We want to make sure you get all the support you need while you are with us. Here you can see the range of support we can offer you while you're doing this course.
Kingston Business School aims to foster a supportive study environment to help you to successfully meet the challenges of the programme and achieve your academic and career goals.
Whether you chose to study full time or part time, support comes in various forms:
- Interactive and collaborative teaching: Teaching is by a combination of classroom sessions, workshops and seminars. Debate and interaction through the exchange of knowledge and experience between students and staff is encouraged.
- Dedicated support: You will be assigned a personal academic supervisor to guide you through the dissertation and thesis stage of the programme. Subject tutors are also on hand to provide guidance on specific modules. The course director and course administrator will help with general academic and administrative issues and there is a student liaison office to help with any other problems or issues.
- Online support: Flexible learning is made easier by Kingston’s online StudySpace learning management system. This innovative system means you can communicate easily with staff and course colleagues through bulletin boards and discussion groups.
- Peer group support: Kingston Business School promotes a strong study-group ethos. You are encouraged to form small informal groups so that you can meet together outside the classroom for mutual support as well as information and resource sharing.
- Learning materials: The Kingston MBA is uniquely supported by a set of manuals which are written and produced exclusively by Business School staff to complement each module. Next to the Open University, Kingston Business School is the biggest provider of such texts in the UK and our students attest to the significant added value these give their study experience.
- Student Services: The University’s student support services offer advice and guidance on a wide range of subjects from finance, accommodation and healthcare to sports and fitness, as well as a Careers Service.
- Language support: International students can access plenty of language support, both before and during your course:
- Pre-sessional English Language Course – improve your English language skills and learn about study methods and life in the UK.
- English Language Support Programme – after you enrol, this free programme offers a range of academic English courses and tutorial support throughout the academic year.
